Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this machine Wow what can I say it’s a wonderful machine. Has taken some getting used to and adjusting the grind setting to get it how I like my coffee. The instruction manual is very good but definitely takes some reading to understand how everything works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best coffee ever! Greta appliance although it is very big and heavy! Uses a lot of water and can be quite noisy but definitely worth it for the amazing coffee you can make!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coffee shop quality made easy at home Having only ever used pod machines I was very nervous about using a bean to cup but after playing around with the settings it’s super quick and easy to use. Comes with very handy instructions and if you’re stuck there’s lots of helpful YouTube videos. The LED screen allows you to see exactly how long it will take. Everything’s pre programmed so you don’t have to measure anything. I also absolutely love the steam wand! Although it can be quite loud. Will come in handy for hot chocolates and chai lattes as well. Honestly such a versatile machine, insane value for money considering you can make literally any drink. I’m surprised that it’s very easy to clean, even comes with a little cleaning brush and doesn’t take up as much space as I anticipated, it fits very nicely on the kitchen counter. Love the design, it’s so sleek and looks expensive. I’m having way too much fun with it, I love my morning coffee but now that the weather is hotting up I’ve been enjoying making ice coffees for everyone. My friend who is a barista says this is as close to the professional ones they use and now wants one for herself. It certainly makes you very popular, my friends and family have decided that I’m their new coffee shop

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Milk pitcher is too big I have already a Sage Bambino Plus and Eureka grinder, so that is my frame of reference for this review. The breville machine feels decently built, and I appreciate the freely articulating steam wand compared to my sage. However, the steam function takes much, much longer to heat up and isn't as powerful. I think the included milk pitcher is too big to create the "velvety" milk foam that they advertise, because the steam wand isn't super powerful and there'S too much milk in there to get it spinning. It would be nice if they included a smaller one. Using a lightly roasted blend, I was able to just barely achieve drinkable shots that weren't sour using grind setting 7 and only 17-17.5g of coffee at the second highest temperature setting. But it is almost choking the machine and takes longer than optimal. This is actually better than my sage, which cannot use lightly roasted coffee at all and always produces sour shots. I have no complaints about the grinder, it is quiet and seems to do a good job. Perhaps the results with lighter roasts would be even better with an external grinder. Overall I can recommend the Barista max if it's under 250 euros, and the Max Plus maybe for 350. But for the retail price, I think you could do better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality coffee machine I was super excited to try out this coffee machine. I love going out for coffee but in the last few years have started making it at home more frequently. I wanted a machine at home that would give me coffee shop quality coffee and boy did this machine deliver. I drink americano mostly but do like to create drinks for family like lattes and cappuccinos. The set up was fairly simple and the instructions provided were easy enough to follow. On unboxing I was presented with a super-stylish piece of machinery. It certainly looked the part and looked like a luxury professional item in my kitchen. The materials used are good quality and provide a sleek look. It is sturdy and doesn’t look or feel flimsy which I have found with previous machines. It is compact and doesn’t take up masses of space in my kitchen, and doesn’t compromise of features. The integrated bean grinder is perfect for creating lattes and cappuccinos and more fancier beverages. However I did find the bean grinder to be quite messy compared to other machines I have tried previously. The LED screen displays extraction time, which allowed me to time my optimum extraction for my perfect espresso shot. The powerful steam wand creates such velvety foam milk which is ideal for making lattes, cappuccinos and flat whites. It doesn’t take ages to warm up and cleaning it up is easy enough. It does make a slight noise when it is cooling down but not a major issue. This machine gives great value for money considering that it has all the features of a coffee shop machine, including a built in grinder and milk frother. The coffee it produces is spot on. After experimenting with different settings I found the one for me. It was rather fun experimenting with the machine and I must say I am very impressed with it. I would definitely recommend this machine and can’t wait to carry on experimenting with different coffee creations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Breville Barista Max+ 2.8l: Enjoy Barista Style Coffee at Home This is an impressive product presented in a compact and efficient way. Its build quality is solid but I am surprised at how much more manageable in weight to lift it is than I had initially thought. It looks the part - the silver chrome finishes matches the kitchen furnishings perfectly. Although I do like the design of most Breville products, this definitely looks superior in person. The set up was a little overwhelming but this is because there are many facets and pieces that need to be put into place before you are able to get the machine going. The instructions were a little overwhelming and a bit repetitive to be honest, but I managed to get through. I washed the included parts that needed to be washed before setting myself up on how to use each part. What l found particularly hard to comprehend was the grinder and its numbers. You turn it a certain amount to get the right grind quality. I will no doubt get more familiar the more that I use this but it’s a matter of preference. Also when making myself an espresso, the temperature was hot but not as hot as I would usually prefer. So I changed the temperature to make it 96 degrees (by following the instructions) but this was still not as hot as my other machine in my household. I hope to play around with this more. One thing that I do love about the Breville Barista Max+ is how it advises you on all the different drinks you can make. Even on the outer box packaging, there is an examples of espresso martinis, lattes etc. I found that the instruction booklet was very good for this and at giving tips on how much coffee to use for one drink versus another. The instructions are quite comprehensive in that respect, and would be perfect for beginners or those wanting to get into coffee more. One thing that I noticed is that the Breville Barista Max+ can get a little noisy, especially after using the stream wand. This is inevitable however as the machine is cooling itself down. The drip tray is easy to remove and can be cleaned with no fuss. It’s all very easy to handle in that respect. Overall, this machine is my first experience using this barista style coffee machine and it is very exciting. I have only ever used a pod machine previous to this. It is quite therapeutic for someone who loves their coffee and I am relishing the idea that I can have my own barista style coffee made with real coffee beans in the comfort of my own home, right in front of me! The more that I use the Breville Barista Max+, the more that I am learning all the ways I can enjoy it. It is one nifty product that barely takes up any room but can really so much. A worthwhile investment that represents great value for money in the long run.
