Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible item My sister and Dad have the variable cup size hot water dispenser and it’s fantastic, I was bought this smaller one and it’s horrendous, it’s noisy, it does one cup size which equates to just over half filling my mugs which all match. So I have half a cup or it overflows by a good amount if I want a full cup. The overflow tray is attached so more difficult to empty than it’s bigger sibling. It’s water tank is half the capacity of its big brother too, so if you want a mug filling it does 31/2 rather than the 7 mugs it’s bigger brother does. My advice is to get the bigger version and if it’s too heavy then fill using a jug rather than carrying it to the tap to fill. I was expecting a smaller version of the bigger one but this product is truly rubbish in comparison ... and did I mention the noise!!

People talk about how it’s nigh on impossible to reinvent the wheel, but Breville have come pretty close with their hot water dispenser, which has permanently replaced my kettle within minutes of unpacking! It’s super simple to setup, it looks great, very easy to use (BRILLIANT design plus being able to remove the water tank rather than having to fill it with a jug!) and works a treat! Prep your mug, hit the button (there’s only one!) and wait a few seconds for a steaming hot cup of tea! Would be nice if you could change the “dose” of water, for bigger or smaller cups, because I appreciate that’s likely to be an additional investment for some - but we got lucky and it fills our mugs perfectly. But for the price, it’s fantastic!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what I’d hoped I bought this for my photographic studio so that people can just grab a quick cuppa or make pot snacks etc. I wish I’d looked into it more before buying as it says on the box that it’s ‘perfect’ for those things, but in reality it’s really not. The dispenser puts out a standard mug full of water, which if you like milk in your drinks means you have to either pour some out of the mug before adding your tea/coffee etc which is invariably messy, or use a jug, which is excess clutter you don’t need. For pot snacks, there’s not a hope of getting the right amount and the water never seems to be actually boiling, which affects the resulting snack. It’s noisy, it spatters and spits before, during and after dispensing. All in all I’m quite disappointed.

I have owned this kettle since purchasing from Amazon way back in Nov. 2017. I have found it absolutely superb from day one, and in these green times it has saved money and energy by not boiling way more water than is required. Cons: J 1. Just recently I have noticed where previously it had served up a full mug of boiling water it now seemingly only serves up about 80% of its previous volume when new, Filters are quite costly too. All told,a great product that has served us well for almost 7 years and is still going strong. Fulfilled all our expectations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 7 years on . . . I have no complaints about this product at all. It’s brilliant. It’s our second one in 12 years and the one we currently have has lasted 7 years so far. I use it several times a day, and not in a delicate manner. It is robust and not flimsy. Can’t fault it. If you want a variable amount, buy a normal kettle. We just make sure we buy mugs that fit 250mls. The water is plenty hot enough, and it’s ready quickly. Arguably the best kitchen appliance we’ve ever had, on a par with the microwave.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor design, short life Bought this expensive "one cup kettle" about 2 years ago. I was immediately struck how badly designed the filler is - but i stuck with it. Now it doesn't fully boil a 300ml measure - it boils & dispenses about 100ml - then coughs and splutters and goes straight into another boil / dispense cycle uncommanded. I've tried descaling 3 times following the instructions to the letter. I'm a retired mechanical engineer - the concept is fine - this product is, at best, poor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I have never heard of a hot cup hot water dispenser. As our kettle was on its way out I thought I would give it a try. Well after the initial instructions on how to get the dispenser working. It's amazing and fills up a decent size cup but a smaller cup would fill it all the way. Just depends on what size mugs you have. You fill up at the back put your cup under and press the button. It will light up blue and make a few noises then start pouring it in. Doesn't take long at all and is much more efficient than using a kettle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fab Hot Water Dispenser I'm really happy with this hot water dispenser and now using it instead of my kettle. It is compact enough to fit on my worktop and looks stylish. I also found it easy to set up and was using it within minutes. I'm the only one who drinks tea in my house so this is perfect as it makes enough hot water for one cup. I'm really happy with it and it is much more economical than my kettle so saving money is also a bonus. The only negative I can think of is that it is slightly loud but not something that put me off using it. Overall, I'm satisfied with it and will continue to use going forward.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and efficient The Breville hot cup is quick and easy to use and sticks with my ethos of efficiency and of being green, you only boil the water you need. I have passed it to my elderly Mum to use as she lives alone and loves how quick it is. The unit is well built and warms water quickly. A downside is the size of the tank and the height of the spout, you can't always get large cups under but this is just a minor gripe and not really an issue. All in all a great new kitchen gadget.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed! I purchased this as I have rheumatoid arthritis and have problems lifting a kettle. I purchased what I thought was the same as the one I bought last year. The first one I owned was a much better design, mainly because it was a) variable and b) had a much larger area to tip the water into as I have to use a jug. The design is not suitable for disabled users and I feel that the original design was far superior to this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for one person This is undoubtedly faster than our kettle so for working from home it’s ideal, no dialling in late to meetings when I’ve left it a bit too late to bring the kettle to the boil, very easy to use and would be ideal for an older person who might be having trouble lifting a heavier kettle. You could fill it with a jug and never have to lift anything. The amount of water dispensed is the perfect amount for our cups, you can’t change the measurement. I think if you have a big family it might not be ideal. Although it doesn’t take long to fill two cups I like to boil water for pasta / rice / soaking pans and this gadget doesn’t really work for that purpose. Great idea though and with energy costs going up I assume it would be slightly cheaper than boiling a full kettle.

We went for a direct replacement after moving home, less than 9 months ago and like many others it's started leaking. Previous versions were let down by the filler lid function breaking down after many years and we accepted that problem, but like so many others the leak is clearly a danger with electricity required. Quality has clearly been dropped during manufacturing and I would advise anyone to avoid these often failing Hot water dispensers until Breville own up to a problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from JUST UNDER 2 YEARS AND STOPPED WORKING And not only that , for the last 1 year it became really noisy , water dispensed was less , really not hot enough at all . Also the connection to make it work was dodgy and had to keep lifting it off the base and back on again to make it work . Fine right at the beginning but this product is not at all built to last .

It’s a shame u can’t regulate the amount or water for a bigger cup, but that’s easily got around by using a jug and boiling twice!! Water always the right temperature for me, certainly has never been less than boiling! My only gripe is the lid, it’s never opened and closed with ease. It’s also developed a leak. I’ve had the product 9months I’m hoping Breville can repair/replace! Overall all though. I’m happy with this product and would certainly recommend it.

This creates an inconvenience. The product is also unstable on its base. Slight pressure by a finger will cause the unit to rock and rotate some degrees

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed! Imin ansulote awe of this machine. I work from home and love my hot drinks however hate waiting for the kettle to boil. With this I can pop down in-between meetings and naked a cup of tea in less than a minute. It is easy to fill up and you just press the button and 250ml of water is dispensed into your mug. It is not only quick and easy to use but saves on electricity which is very important nowadays. The dispenser has a beautiful elegant design which is sleek and stylish and has replaced my kettle now.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stay away. I hope they don't make it still I purchased this after my old one cup, which we inherited after my MIL passed away. It finally gave up after a huge amount of time. Purchased this one .mid lockdown. Unfortunately, the blue light went within 2 days but due to rules we couldn't retur. It. Then, 2 weeks later the button broke. It still opened but only by putting your finger in the hole. Then it's dispensing amount became erratic. Today it died altogether. Reluctant to buy another. I feel they lost the reliability they once had

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Time saving dream! An absolutely time saving dream. Gone are the days of having to lift a kettle full of water to manually fill your cup. Literally sit a cup on the tray push the button and off you go. Reduces the risk of burning yourself, distributes the correct amount of water for a regular mug and dead easy to refill. The future is now! The future is this 'kettle'. Just don't put the milk in before the teabag!!

Its always performed well and you make a cup of tea or coffee in record time. Absolutely no limescale inside. it looks as good as the day I bought it. I use it several times a day and it has never let me down. The old style kettles used to last for 2/3 years and then the element would go I would never use anything else and now most of my friends have bought one too after seeing mine.

I bought this through QVC a few years back and used it for about ten days.During that time I never managed to make a decent cup of tea.The water may reach boiling point but only for a second because by the time it reaches the cup it isn’t boiling so you will never get a proper cup of tea.Just make two cups,one using a normal kettle and you will not only see the difference,you will taste it.This machine is more suitable for making herbal teas etc.

Very simple and easy to use, from filling up to cleaning, and also the 10-15 seconds it takes to give you scorching hot water for your tea or coffee :) I’m also conscious of the fact that this uses far less energy than a normal everyday kettle, which is a huge plus for your pocket and environment! Highly recommended!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Bought this a year ago, it's so quick to boil, let's out 300mls. We use it for tea, coffee and to fill a baby bottle. It's been so good and not waiting so long for a normal kettle to boil while our baby is crying. I used my mum's kettle not long ago and Omg it takes about 5 minutes to boil which is a lot of time when you have a baby. This kettle takes 1-2 minutes per boil. I couldn't recommend this enough. Would never go back to a normal kettle
