toasties ? pancakes more like....just tried for 1st time, and bread gets squashed flatter than a tortilla, needs some form of resistance control to close lid onto toastie, but not to compress it, sadly this is getting returned, I did have high hopes for it

Ok productI bought this and it does what I need to do the only thing to improve the product is to spring load the top plate like the ones in a cafe so it stays in position and not squash the panini which happens every time

Love this so much I'm going to buy a secondI have a family with teenagers and this panini press is better than a toasty machine for them. They can throw in breakfast wraps or a homemade toasty and they cook quickly and evenly. I strongly recommend getting an oil spray to spray your bread with to get that nice crisp outside when you are making toasties. I will get another before they stop making them so that I we have one when this one has been worn out.
