Best toastie machine I've had yet!! Very well built and brilliantly designed, the plates are removable easy to wash and nice its hard to now when done liquid dtill leaked and fine if goes on plates of go underneath then its hard work

Not used much but it no longer works
I've had this a few years and used it from time to time - not enough to wear the non stick coating. Now it no longer works. It started by tripping out the electrics. I left it a few weeks and it seemed to work OK. However, the lights come on, it indicates that it has reached temperature but is barely warm. Very disappointed that it has only worked for about thirty pairs of sandwiches. I don't think it is well made. I went for Breville thinking it would be good quality but made a mistake.

Improved features of an old classic.
I originally had one of these in the 1980’s, difficult to clean and limited recipes. Roll on 35 years and this improved deep fill toastie maker is a huge improvement. The removable non stick plates make cleaning so easy and with it being compact in size storage is easy too. The recipes have advanced too, now you can make omelettes and cakes in it too. The sandwich had a nice golden crisp outer and the ingredients melted perfectly, we enjoy coming up with new recipes and trying them out.

Pretty but useless
Excited to recreate childhood memories, but disappointed. It constantly trips the electrics. It makes beautiful patterns in your bread but thats about as far as it goes. A beautiful disaster of a machine. Don't waste your time or money. Ive since seen others have had the same issue.

Great for the whole family
I havent had a Breville sandwich maker for a long time and its got even better just everything is great especially how much more filling you can put in the sandwich, this is a life saver for me when I'm too tired to cook and my whole family love the sandwiches made in it . Its really easy to use with a simple light system to tell you when its hot enough and small enough to store away easily but my favourite feature is the hot plates come out so you can clean them thoroughly and they are not fiddly just press a button and out they pop.

Oh my days this is brilliant no more hacking off melted food I love the way the pates come off to be cleaned amazing. The deep fill is fantastic for my grown up kids to make full English breakfast toasties. I’ve also made blueberry pancakes for the little ones and they turned out yummy.

no way to buy plates
the plate are worn and leave black powder stains on hands after washing. The black powers is coating from underneath the plates... The non-stick is washed by now. And there is no way to buy replacement plates!

I am delighted to be using the toastie maker. The dish is deeper than others I have used previously. It is easy to handle and easy to store. The size is quite decent. The preparation time is pretty quick. The cleaning is a bit of a hassle due to the crumbs getting stick in the crevices. Overall, it is a good and helpful device.

Pretty good but could be so much better!
Firstly, I should say that I love cheese toasties and have done since childhood. Breville is synonymous with the cheese toastie and having tried other brands and returned to Breville I can see why - it is definitely superior to the other brands I've tried.
When I got gifted one of these, I wasnt really excited about any of the functions, just that I can enjoy cheese toasties or 'Brevilles' again.
This version has a useful 'heat ready' light and you can remove the plates for easy cleaning which make a huge difference. Even though we don't usually, there is also an option to put the plates in the dishwasher which is super helpful.
All this said...I do have 2 gripes with this toaster...
1. Even though you can remove the toasting plates for easy cleaning, sometimes the molten cheese will be able to get in through the tiny gap between the plates and either start to burn on the elements or dry solid making it impossible to clean off.
2. Similarly to the last gripe, sometimes molten cheese/butter/grease etc, will escape down the sides and back of the machine making it really messy and more unnecessary cleaning.
Please note, that yes, I do add ample cheese but not extreme amounts so whilst I can expect the odd overflow this happens 99% of the time.
My suggestions to Breville would be to redesign the removable plates to add a wider 'cheese/ingredient' catchment area with a trench and/or a lip that means the cheese/juices are trapped in the catchment area and cannot escape either out of the machine on to the worktop or into the area where the elements sit.
Fix this and you'd get 5 stars!

Is not really deep fill
I bought this because I trust the Breville brand. The sandwich maker is easy to clean but no way is it "deep fill" and you have to trim normal size bread slice to fit. There is no temperature adjustment and it's a matter of guesswork when your sandwich is ready. Not that cheap, either. Disappointing.

I bought this as it said deep fill, sandwich divider etc. On the first use I burnt my hand on the handle when closing, which I found very difficult. I used thick slice bread - possibly might be better with thinner. However it flattened the bread so much it tasted horrible. I placed the bread it as per instructions and found the space left for filling tiny. Instructions said to use small amount of cheese. Quite honestly, I threw my sandwich away. Very disappointed!

Easy to use
The toastie maker is quite heavy. It takes a good few minutes to heat up, giving you enough time to get everything ready. It is easy to use. You can even make omelettes and steak bakes in it. For a perfect toastie you need to allow a good five minutes. I found no filling came out while cooking. When finished it is easy to clean, you can either clean the plates of the maker with a
damp cloth or you can take the plates out using the relise buttons when cooled and wash them. Both ways are pretty easy.

Makes super tasty toasties
This product was so easy to set up and use, making really quick and easy toasties. I have made a couple of bean and cheese toasties, which would really recommend. The toastie maker leaves the bread super crispy and a really gooey delicious middle.

Deep fill toastie machine
Hallelujah! A toastie machine that accommodates my need to overfill my toastier! Finally a machine that can handle my fillings, I always end up with most of my fillings outside of the actual toastie and they end up dripping down the side of the machine making an awful mess. This machine stops all that, allowing to indulge in a toastie that is beautifully browned on the outside and deeply filled with my chosen filling. Love it. Easy to use and makes a lovey toastie, no sticking easy to clean.

So much better than the original!
I got this toastie maker to try as i like my toasties to have a lot of filling and its not always possible with the original. The toastie maker looks very stylish and doesnt get overly hot. There are no ridges om the maker were you can accidently burn yourself. I would say that it is double the amount of filling you can add to your toastie compared to the original and i much prefer this maker to the original design wise and the exta filling space.

The best toastie maker ever!
This is a firm favourite in our household at the moment. We’ve made some gorgeous toasties and they are just perfect. Deep filled and crunchie on the outside. Just how we l or them. We’ve managed to get more fillings in, with cheese, ham and red onion being our fabourites. They cook really quickly too. One of the other features which is amazing, is the cooking plates are removable and you can put them in the dishwasher. Brilliant!

Deep Fill Delight
The Breville toastie machine is absolutely amazing, heats up super fast and makes delicious toasted treats in 5 minutes. Careful though, because they are super hot inside. Beans and cheese and Bacon, mushroom and cheese are a family favourite but you can put anything in this machine to make a delicious on the go snack. I love that the plates easily remove for cleaning making this a great edition to any modern kitchen. 10/10

This makes the bread soggy and it sticks to the top despite trying many methods. It trips the electric creating a vey load household when the Xbox goes off and everyone’s left Hangry! It’s as useful as a chocolate tea pot. It’s cold and doesn’t work, do not recommend EVER.

NO SPARE PARTS!
This was to replace my 30 year old 4 slice toaster that was still working well but too large!
Its absolute rubbish compared to the old one. The none stock coating has come off the pates so its now useless! The plates are NOT AVAILABLE and even though Breville are members of AMEDA and agreed to have spare parts availability for
8 years after production cease they just fob you off! Rubbish all round.

Terrible considering the price
Where do i start ? Machine doesnt close properly with 2 slices of warburtons so the sarnie doesnt seal … which then loses all the cheese , uneven cooking too ! The handle is supposed to click shut , it doesnt ! Its saving grace is removable plates for easier cleaning but we just dont use ours anymore as its useless , i use the air fryer once ive made the sandwich to finish off the cooking/melting

Breville deep fill toastie maker
After using a small sized toastie maker for a while I decided to try the breville deep fill maker. This toastie maker is fantastic you can put so much more filling in and it doesn't spill out of the sides. Really easy to use and very easy cleaning after using. Looking forward to trying some new varieties of toasties now go on treat yourself. Definitely recommend this product.

Great results and easy to clean!
Nice compact toastie maker, it isn’t flimsy and even with a very fat toastie holds firm, gives a golden crispy finish, very easy to clean plates and it also heats up for use very quickly. I clean it when the plates are still slightly warm ( with the appliance turned off and unplugged of course) great for family use, or as a student or living alone. Reliable solid product.

Amazing Product
I got this about a month ago, and with most toasty machines I was afraid to use it because usually it gets very messy and impossible to clean properly. But not with this one, easily removable toasty grates I could clean and get into the nooks and crannies, it also made an amazing toasty perfectly cooked in the centre where as older models didn’t hear up properly.

Great little toaster and works well
Love this thing - not only is it compact and pretty stylish (for a toasted sarnie maker!) but it’s so easy! Plug it in, wait for the lights and bung in your bread and filling! The only thing I’d advise is avoid wet/soft sandwich fillings! I tried cheese and pickle but after 5-7 mins in the machine - the bread just got browned but damp! Still tasted good though!

Toasties are back!!
I love this toastie maker, I have not used one in years and I remember them always being so messy and hard to clean!
No more! This has removable plates which are easy as could be to remove and place back in. It was quick to heat up and made my toastie lovely and crispy without spilling everywhere within 5 mins. Loved it! This is already a family favourite!

been looking for a really decent deep filled sandwich toaster that doesn't make the filling seep out the sides when the lid is closed and one that doesn't make the bread burn so quickly or dry it completely out and this sandwich Toaster has really surprised Me on how brilliant it is and its super easy to clean too!! Not like they used to be.
Not built like they used to be.
Had our previous Breville Sandwich Toaster as a wedding present in 2005. Absolutely loved it, used it constantly, only gripe was difficult to clean. Finally last year we decided to buy the new one with removable plates (after buying my mum one for Xmas), which we thought would be superb, and it was initially. Removing the plates, soaking them and washing was so much easier, just what we wanted, until....
Last month, the non stick coating has started coming off- they never go in a dishwasher, don't use scourers on them just soak in washing up bowl and clean. Now, it is impossible to make a sandwich without them ripping open as you lift the lid, then you have to scrape the stuck sandwich off and try to make something half decent. Initially I thought I'd just buy new plates for it. Turns out Breville don't do replacement plates. So now I will have to throw out a toastie maker in good working order because i can't replace the plates.

Very good quality toastie maker.its really easy to use and keep clean.the plates are removable and non stick.you can put in any filling you like and have a hot snack within minutes.my kids love making cheese toasties.you can make 2 deep filled toasties.its safe for kids to use with cool touch handles n non slip feet.

I have had toastie maker s in the past but this one is the best I've ever had .tes they all make toastie the same but this one you can pop out the trays to clean and is so much easier to clean than others in the past..and the toasies are great too . love it
